this plaid cut-out shoulder shirt's got something the others don't: studs.
This DIY is not for the faint of heart - pliers, piercing, and a whole lotta clamping.
Fingers will get pinched, wrists will get weak, profanities will be uttered out of sheer frustration.
Still up for the challenge?! Let's get started, shall we..
You'll need: a good pair of needle nose pliers (available here) and STUDS. I bought mine from StudsandSpikes.com. Yes, such a site exists, and let me tell you - it's amazing.
I opted for the Pyramid Standard 1/2" Black Studs.
The technique: Cut out shoulders. Place the stud where you want it and poke it through the fabric. Take each prong and bend it inwards with your pliers (left picture above). Then, squeeze each prong as if you were trying to squeeze it against the inner wall of the stud to firmly wedge the fabric in between the stud (This gets a little tricky and is super hard to explain - this guy does a much better job of it!). Repeat a couple of dozen times and BAM!
Studded and shoulderless, at your service.
urban outfitters plaid shirt (men's department - similar style here), j brand skinny jeans (available here),
urban outfitters velvet loafer (available here)
Did something similar two year ago but it was with my tie-dyed shorts. Happy New Year! :)
