While packing for our vacation to one of our favorite places on earth, I decided to include my new sweater from J. Crew! Since I have white-as-snow skin, I took this rare opportunity to flaunt my tan (which is basically nonexistent) and figured it would pair nicely with my neon sweater! So, here it is, the unveiling of possibly my new favorite item in my wardrobe!

When I'm on vacation, I like to pick up a little something to remember the trip by. This time, it's this hat! I had already brought one hat with me, but this one was too perfect to pass up - not too big, not too small - just right! on vacay

Greetings from the not-so-sunny east coast! To celebrate Sally being done with high school, we headed out to the beach for a week-long getaway. Aside from today's gloomy weather, it's been nothing but sunshine and fun! While packing for the week can seem like a daunting task, the best part about it out here is the casual, laid-back vibe - a few light, breezy pieces and minimal accessories. Ah, the good life!

chocolate chip cupcakes

Remember our little Housewives baking tour we joked about? Well, we decided to continue our "trip!" This time it was fellow New Yorker Bethenny Frankel's chocolate chip cupcakes with a delicious peanut butter glaze! You can find the cupcake recipe, here, the peanut butter glaze recipe, here, and a ton of other delicious (and surprisingly healthy!) recipes in her book, The Skinnygirl Dish.

The cupcakes have sort of an almondy flavor (which Jilly loved!) from the almond extract - if you're not a huge fan, you could definitely leave it out and they'd be just as delish!

The glaze was oh-so peanut buttery and scrumptious!
You may have to heat the mixture a bit for a smoother consistency.

surprise

As many of you may know, on June 11th I celebrated my 18th birthday!! The day was filled with family, delicious food and presents! Amongst all of the gifts I was given, I'd have to say that I was most surprised by two of them, my new sunglasses and my new bracelet! As you may remember from previous want lists, I've had my eye on these Gucci aviators for quite some time - and my very generous brother got them for me (he's the best!) My bracelet was a total surprise - and I'm absolutely in love with it!
