NYFW backstage pass: DL1961

A firm believer in the idea that a good pair of jeans can change your life, I was thrilled to attend the DL1961 runway show to see what's in store for denim come Fall! Known for its perfect fit, the brand has become a fast-favorite of the style set (and Sally!), striking the perfect balance between downtown edge and polished sophistication.

Before the show, I headed backstage where I chatted with Sephora's Sara Biria who created the "heroin-chic" makeup look that would later walk the runway. The totally attainable look is one we can't wait to emulate: a natural smokey eye with a touch of sheen (created with a dab of lip gloss) and a nude lip.

As a crowd began to form outside, we took our seats eagerly awaiting Creative Director Sarah Ahmed's vivid blue jeans, chic distressing, and leather interpretations to strut down the runway. While classic skinny staples got upgraded with tuxedo stripes and frayed details, what really caught my eye were the snakeskin metallics and quilted leather panels. Every look was even more wearable than the last, and left me wishing they could walk off the runway and straight into my closet! Here are just some of my favorites below:

Watch the entire show on the DL1961 website, and tell me, what were your favorite looks?!
