Black and yellow black and yellow. In all seriousness though, it's a winning combination in my book. I clearly fell for this yellow when I visited the Walter Baker showroom. And color aside, nothing beats two breezy pieces on a hot summer day! (Well, nothing, except for a sister who generously 'lends' you one of said breezy pieces..)

I'm very picky when it comes to prints, especially florals. I'd almost given up hope of finding the perfect floral top until I came across this jacket from Elizabeth and James. Just the right pattern, just the right colors, and dark enough to carry me through fall - I happily climbed aboard the floral print train!

twinning
As you guys may know, on Monday we celebrated Sally's 18th birthday! As per family tradition, we all headed out to lunch together. In an unexpected twist, we all (including our Mommy!) ended up wearing identical maxi dresses! So lunch turned into a lesson in remixing - one piece, three different ways!

Not all stripes were created equal, and when two different types come together, they make outfit magic (or at least they add some fun to an otherwise casual look)! These vintage Levi's have become a staple in my summer wardrobe (they've even crept their way into my winter wardrobe, too!). I love the little bit of edge they add to a basic tank and bikini. Even though they're as destroyed as destroyed can get, I can still dress them up in a snap with a flowy blouse and wedges. That's when you know you've found perfection!

This is most likely the closest I'll get to florals on florals this season! I've yet to find the perfect top-and-bottom combo to go full out botanical (maybe it's my allergies holding me back, hehe!). But some soft pink and neutrals paired with more vibrant colors is a combo I can get used to, no matter the print!

We're so happy to be collaborating with Poshlocket!
