I can't lie - after the bar exam, I had a serious problem transitioning back to normal clothes (you know, those that are not sweatpants/pajamas). I've since come to realize that there's nothing wrong with being a little comfy all the time. Be it in flats, an oversized sweater, or - dare I say it - leggings.

Now I'm totally of the "leggings are not pants" school. But, I'm also a firm believer that when styled properly, leggings can be a worthy substitute. The key is the length of your top - it must be on the longer side. For instance, when paired with hi-top sneakers and a chunky sweater (above), or a tunic-length button-down and booties (below), leggings pass quite convincingly (and comfortably!) as most structured, street-ready garments.

Layering to beat the cold is nothing new, but doubling up on outerwear has become my favorite sneaky way to take on the season! Sure, this jacket works just as well alone, but throw a vest on top and you've got yourself a brand new look (and a new reason to love Fall!).

I've amassed quite a collection of slouchy, ripped jeans over the years (I'm looking at you, high school Jilly), but this ASOS boyfriend pair tops the list! In an effort to dress them up a bit (I've changed a little since high school after all), I decided to pair them with a silk blouse, my navy blazer, and one of the most gorgeous Chanel bags I've ever been fortunate enough to lay my paws on.

The summer girl in me decided to rebel and bare some skin in the aftermath of a blizzard. I'm normally not one to mix red and green. The combo often feels a bit "holiday-y." But these sneakers have me searching for new ways to mix and match red, so I gave this olive green jacket a go! The slightly brick red against the more subdued green (tempered by deep browns and black) made for a harmonious little blend.

While the blizzard may have defeated all of our other fashion week plans, on Monday I dashed home after class, quick-changed, and flew to Lincoln Center for the DL1961 show (more on that soon!). I'm so psyched beanies have been everywhere on the Fall runways! I won't have to part with mine too long before I can whip them out again..
