But as I got older, it hit me. So much of fashion is wonderfully functionally useless (cue jewelry,
hula hoop bags, peplum,
thigh-high gladiator sandals, collar necklaces). Elevating aesthetics over utility is arguably one of the things that makes fashion, well,
fashion.
So why can't little old me partake in the ridiculousness? Rather than (stupidly) wish away my perfect eyesight, why not just hit up
Urban Outfitters or
ASOS for some clear-lensed specs? Well, ladies and gents, with a digital shopping trip and the help of photoshop, that's exactly what I did..
While some may scoff at the notion of wearing glasses when you don't actually
need glasses, product descriptions that read "they don't provide any magnification and are only intended to make you look cute!" are reassuring affirmations that I'm not alone in my quest for per-spec-tion. Sure, they may be gratuitous, but in a style world that clearly celebrates and finds beauty in artistic madness..
why not?
